To Proudly Go Begins a New Chapter with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Viewing Parties at Red Eye NYC
After years of building one of New York City's most recognizable LGBTQIA+ Star Trek communities, To Proudly Go is launching a new chapter of its programming with weekly Star Trek: Strange New Worlds viewing parties at Red Eye NYC.
Beginning Friday, July 24, fans are invited to gather every Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for an evening that celebrates Star Trek, drag, and community. Each event will feature live Star Trek-inspired performances by Heather Wood, Godiva Romance, Kailee Rose, Poise'n Envy, and Princess Bitch, followed by a screening of the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Guests can also enjoy Star Trek trivia, prizes, giveaways, drink specials, food, and thce opportunity to meet fellow fans in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
For To Proudly Go, these viewing parties represent far more than a new venue—they represent the continuation of a mission that has brought together thousands of fans over the past several years.
Since its founding in 2021, To Proudly Go has combined the hopeful vision of Star Trek with the creativity of drag performance to create a one-of-a-kind community experience. The organization's weekly Star Trek shows became a fixture of New York City's LGBTQIA+ nightlife, first at Barracuda Lounge, where they ran until the venue's closure, and later at Industry Bar, where the tradition continued. Across nearly 200 events, To Proudly Go has welcomed fans from around the world while raising thousands of dollars for charitable organizations and demonstrating how fandom can be a powerful force for inclusion and community.
While the venue has changed, the mission has not.
"Star Trek has always challenged us to imagine a future where our differences make us stronger," said Michael Agnew, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of To Proudly Go. "We created these events because we believe that future begins by building community today. Whether someone has been a Star Trek fan for decades or is discovering the franchise for the first time, we want everyone to walk through our doors knowing they have found a place where they belong."
In an era when streaming has made television an increasingly solitary experience, To Proudly Go believes there is something special about watching together. Fans can celebrate dramatic moments, laugh together, debate theories, and experience each episode as part of a shared community rather than alone at home.
The viewing parties also continue To Proudly Go's signature blend of live entertainment and fandom. Star Trek-inspired drag performances celebrate the franchise's iconic characters and themes while embracing the creativity, self-expression, and joy that have become hallmarks of the organization's events.
The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds viewing party has been announced as a limited-run series tied to the first 6 episodes of current season of the show, additional programming is already being planned for the rest of season 4 of the show..
The limited run serves as the first step in continuingTo Proudly Go's programming and continuing to create spaces where fans can gather year-round.
For To Proudly Go, the goal remains the same as it has always been: to celebrate the optimism of Star Trek while fostering a welcoming community where LGBTQIA+ people, allies, science fiction enthusiasts, and newcomers alike can connect, make friends, and experience the franchise together.
As Star Trek reminds us, the future is built through exploration, compassion, and the courage to embrace diversity. Through these viewing parties, To Proudly Go hopes to bring that vision to life—one Friday night at a time.
