Welcome Shavonte McClinton (Godiva Romance) to the To Proudly Go Board!
To Proudly Go is thrilled to officially welcome Shavonte McClinton (aka Godiva Romance) as our newest Board Member!
Godiva Romance has been part of the To Proudly Go family since the very beginning—joining us all the way back at our first Star Trek viewing party at Barracuda Lounge in August 2021. Since then, Godiva has been a constant presence in our community, bringing talent, heart, and an unmistakable energy to everything we do.
Shavonte McClinton is an NYC-based drag entertainer originally from Kansas, with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Throughout their career, they have worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community across all five boroughs. Over the past four plus years with To Proudly Go, Godiva has performed on our stages, marched proudly with us in Brooklyn Pride, and represented our mission at Star Trek and sci-fi conventions—always helping us build visibility and community in spaces where queer joy belongs.
Through his work with To Proudly Go, Godiva has been featured in a New York Times nightlife spotlight, and even made a memorable cameo in the documentary “Beam Me Up, Sulu.”
